Honouring Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls
"You Are Not Forgotten."
Jean and Chelsea began working together in January 2022, and in February of 2022 they decided they wanted to do something for Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women's Day on May 5.
They asked Chelsea's mother, Sherry, for help designing a t-shirt (see coloured version to the right). With the idea that women are most powerful at their moon time, the design shows how powerful we are, and that we are never going to forget anyone we have lost.
May 5, 2022 they hosted a community event for all of those who have lost their mothers, daughters, nieces, friends, etc. to such horrible people.

Our Planning Team
The wheels were set in motion by...
Jean Bell
Jean took most of the planning into her own hands, as a lot of her co-workers were off at workshops, finals, or other important events. This meant she was the one trying to make sure she had all the information she needed to truly honour all local families.
Chelsea Hunt
Chelsea was the main creative mastermind behind most of the day. As well as co-lead with the idea to honour families who lost loved ones. She ordered the t-shirts provided to our community.
Sherry Hunt
Sherry has been an asset in our community for as long as I (Jean) have known. We wanted to continue her hard work by hosting this event. As well as respect her creative mind in creating our t-shirts for the event.
Roxana Wilson
Roxana has been a huge advocate in our community for Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls. She was our go-to for making sure we truly honoured and respected all families in attendance.
We truly honour everyone's hand in making sure May 5 was a good and strong day for all of us. But especially the main strong and powerful women of our team.
